Purpose

On a full moon day, as I muse
with an idle brain, put to use
a downpour of thoughts go on shower
the garden of my mind, all over.

A thousand yells, against one man
went in vain, nay, saw him win.
Be it a strong will or a restless travail
people said, it was his own toil.

I differ, and I don't waver
to reckon a thing which is clear
It's not the will and not the toil
that drove him above the tier.
It was a challenge, to his core,
to his ego and to the true self
that placed him at the helm.

To believe in his own words,
to practice what he says,
to stand by his deeds,
to judge by his conscience
to strive for his ambitions
to achieve that he desires
is to serve the purpose
of his life and existence.

But that's not everything,
not the whole meaning,
if he remains, but a slave
to his lust and longing.
Man's goal and mission
is to realize a vision
higher than himself
and his fellow men
fulfilled, it is, then
the wholeness of his being !

The Tour

In an intriguing land, adored by all
with undying zeal and ardent fervor
not to care for spring or fall,
my champion and I, went on a tour.

Over the infinite blue sea, there was a wonderful pier,
evincing the mark of man on nature,
A golden sun, like a ball of fire,
sinking slowly, as the waves soar and roar,
sand, so soft, seagulls and pebbles, all along the shore,
a treat for the eye and a heart full of joy,
Sublime, it was, like the peace of mind, in prayer.
I wondered if I saw it all,
but no, there was more in store.

And then there was a place, with glitter all around
where the day was forever asleep and the night stayed young.
where masses tried their luck, with desires, unbound,
where nothing evoked a regret, and instinct was in swing,
where power had it's say, be it right or wrong,
A marvel from the man, on a land, so barren,
exalting, it felt, just like a rock song !
I wondered if I saw it all,
but no, there was more in store.

A road I saw, like never before,
Curving it's way with ups and downs, along the mighty ocean
the other side, standing tall , was all rock and mountain,
Nature had so much to offer and every sight, for me to savour.
The ancient man, I thought, had no concerns, but food and shelter,
no need of time to spare, for he was also a part of nature.
Enlightening, it was, like the sight of a glorious dawn.
I wondered if I saw it all,
but no, there was more in store.

Then I saw an old man, sitting by his caravan,
lighting a fire in the front, with a guitar in one hand,
his pup was beside him, looking innocent and bemused,
It seemed it was loneliness, or was it solitude ?
he could be enduring it or could he be cherishing it ?
he said he lived in the valley and had no family,
his tone was live and gentle, but with subtle gloom,
Educating, it was, like the Wisdom of Solomon.
I wondered if I saw it all,
but no, there was more in store.

Then I came to a town, where holiday found its true place,
no one was in a hurry, and walked with some grace,
reckoning, they missed their childhood and were reliving the same,
I thought, these were wise ones, they knew the price of time,
Blending into one such crowd, trying to be my impeccant form,
Amusing, it was, like the simple smile on a child's face,
That's when I realised, I would never know it all,
but yes, the world's open, until I do so !

Change

One step ahead, you don't know,
If what's in your mind, is right for sure,
yet, you can't stop, and you can't drop,
for you're the means of your own hope.

There's nothing to lose, from the days gone by,
good or bad, they're out of the way.
The spark is in today, is all I say,
to leave a mark, on the following day.

The period of change, is a looming night,
left behind from a glorious twilight
you can't choose to halt, at quiet,
you're bound to see the broad daylight.

This whole world is on a roll,

not afraid to take the toll
It's time for you to make the call,
The course of life is, change, after all!
